Misclassification

GMF Command sent a message to the EFCV and CMT members. Operation SUEVAS has ended. Conflict status: MISCLASSIFICATION. The official narrative for The Battle for Aden reclassified the conflict as a Cosmic Bug Infestation. This title also closed the ongoing debate. GMF Command waited for an all clear from the Galactic Council before turning the flotilla around.

Lt. Col. Nelson called Lt. Col. Vanwyke and Major Whitman, requesting their presence in her office for a briefing on Operation Suevas. In the conference room on the EFCV, Carl Hanson, an Ethologist, looked at his fellow Ethologist Bernard Tanner and asked, "How quickly can we evacuate the planet?” Bernard answered, “Not quickly enough.” As the two sat and continued to watch the view screen, they watched reptiles expel secretions and reduced in size.

Bernard looked at Carl, “Well, that’s not at all humanoid, and that is a pretty gross sight.” Carl shook his head, "No, it's not humanoid, it's a bug, and I hope EF Troopers kill all those bugs without mercy."

Bernard's PDT vibrated, which startled him, and he jumped to his feet. Carl watched him and jumped up, yelling, "What is it? What's wrong?" Bernard chuckled as he said, "Sorry, my PDT it ... anyway nothing's wrong ... this made me jumpy after watching that...Oh, look, GMF Command sent a message. “Operation Suevas is no longer active, all vessels and personnel will now cease operations and stand by for further instructions. Misclassification of conflict, see attached report, all vessels are required to hold on station at the main spaceport of Saturn for reassignment” Bernard turned and walked toward the door. Carl said, "We what, leave? ... that's it? ... we're done? we turn tail and go home?" Bernard called out over his shoulder, “That’s what it looks like, yes.” Carl replied in an angry voice, “People died in front of our eyes, and we leave? We need to do something about this.”

Bernard reached the entryway and turned to look at Carl, "Look at your PDT, this is now an aggressive insect problem, and watch where you step, yikes.” He turned and walked away. Carl sat down and looked at the view screen.

He leaned forward, covered his face with his hands, and began to cry, in his mind he knew Tami and her family had been killed. "I met Tami, she was a sweet child. I'm so sorry, Tami ... I'm so sorry.” he said through his hands as he sobbed.

A Negotiator on the CMT, Kenneth, and an Arbitrator, Lisa, walked over and sat next to Carl, one on each side. They placed a hand on his shoulder, and they began to sob.

Kenneth said, “I recognized you from the group video call with the Aden people. You’re Carl, right?” Lisa said, “She was a sweet child, and as smart as they come. Come with us Carl, this is not over, but this is no longer a task for us.” Kenneth and Lisa stood up, and helped Carl stand. The trio walked out the entry way.
